About us

EliMar Constructions was founded in 2019 by licensed builder Joe Romanous, following two decades of hands-on experience across residential and architectural construction. From a young age, Joe was immersed in the building industry, working alongside his father, a building contractor, on weekends and school holidays. By 16, he was helping with major contracts during the Sydney 2000 Olympics, sparking a lifelong passion for construction.


Joe left school in 2000 to begin his apprenticeship and formal training, completing Carpentry Certificates I, II and III at Granville TAFE and gaining extensive experience in structural carpentry, renovations, extensions and multi-dwelling projects. By 2005, he had completed his Certificate IV in Building and Construction and went on to obtain his NSW builder’s licence in 2008.


Over the years, Joe worked across Sydney on high-end architectural builds and co-founded Vivid Built Pty Ltd in 2014. The company delivered award-winning projects throughout the Eastern Suburbs, Northern Beaches and Sutherland Shire, including a national HIA award-winning home in 2018.


After relocating to Canberra in 2021, Joe established EliMar Constructions to continue his commitment to quality renovations and custom builds. Today, EliMar Constructions proudly services Canberra, Goulburn, the Southern Highlands and NSW South Coast, offering a full range of building services, from kitchen, bathroom and laundry renovations to home extensions, timber decking and outdoor living projects.
